Description
Sika AcouBond consists of:
SikaLayer-03, a high quality
polyethylene foam membrane with
symmetrically placed cut outs to
receive the adhesive.
SikaBond-T52, a high-performance,
solvent-free, one-component,
moisture-curing polyurethane elastic
adhesive, sound dampening, wood
flooring adhesive, applicable with a
gun.
Where to use
Sika AcouBond can bond solid wood
flooring, strip flooring (tongue and
groove), engineered as well as
laminate flooring.
Advantages
• Permanently elastic allowing
differential movement.
• Reduces walking sound
• Easy and safe installation, directly
on concrete.
• Saves on material and labour costs:
No need for sleepers and plywood,
single low consumption adhesive
application.
• Does not promote growth of
bacteria or fungus.
• Good adhesion to many substrates,
solid, engineered and laminate
types.
• Compatible with radiant floor
installation.
• Can be walked on during installation
and subsequently sanded.
How to use
SURFACE PREPARATION
Concrete/Plywood: The subfloor
must be prepared in accordance with
the National Wood Flooring
Association guidelines. In general that
means the subfloor must be flat,
clean, dry, free from dust and loose
particles and structurally sound. High
spots should be ground flat and low
spots must be filled with leveling
compound. Although SikaBond-T52
adhesive can “bridge” small
imperfections when the subfloor is
slightly uneven, the floor should
always be prepared properly. Sika
recommends a vacuum for final
cleaning, rather than a broom, to
remove all dust particles.
Glazed ceramic tiles: Degrease, sand
the tile surface and thoroughly clean
with an industrial vacuum cleaner.
Other substrates: In case of other
unknown substrates, please refer to
Sika Technical Service.
