PRODUCT INFORMATION
Product description
The OSMO COLOR POLYX®-Oil System is a superior, photochemical and through
oxygen effect drying wood coating for highly demanded wooden surfaces
particularly, solid wood floorings, parquet, cork and furniture.
The POLYX®-Oil System penetrates into the wood and offers an open-cell surface.
As a result of the photochemical drying the immediate processing / packing is
possible.
The POLYX®-Oil System emphasises the natural structure and grain of the wood.
Ecology of the surface
The POLYX®-Oil System is based on re-growing vegetable oils (sunflower oil,
soybean oil, thistle oil) and does not contain any biocides nor preservatives. The
products are free of formaldehyde, PCP, Lindan, Permethrin and hazardous heavy
metal's. They contain neither organic solvents nor water. The dried surface is
physiological safe for man, animal and plant (DIN 53160,
EN 71) and fulfils the very high demands of the "Deutsche Gütegemeinschaft
Möbel e.V." (RAL-RG430).
Certificates are available.
The production is established and applies in accordance with the certification of
the OSMO COLOR Stain & Paint Division DIN EN ISO 9001 and 14001 (Qualityand
Environmental management system).
Range of application
Wood for the interior, e.g. wooden floorings (solid wood from hardwood and
softwood, parquet, 3S-boards, OSB, cork etc.) and furniture. Particularly wood
with high contend of oily ingredients and hard exotic wood has to be checked
first.
Preparation
The untreated wood has to be frost free, dry (max. wood moisture 20%), clean,
fibre- and dust free, sanded with P180 – P320.
Processing
The POLYX®-Oil System is being delivered ready to use. Do not thin. Stir well
before using.The detailed steps of the processing have to be done in accordance
with the detailed application instructions of the OSMO COLOR Stain & Paint
Division. The observance of the application instructions rests with the processor.
Coverage
OSMO COLOR POLYX®-Oil Ground: approx. 5 - 15 g/m²OSMO COLOR POLYX®-Oil
Top-Coat: approx. 4 - 10 g/m²
For cork a third application is recommended.
Container sizes
25 kg can,special container size upon request.
Colours
Colourless and transparent colours possible upon request.
Cleaning of the application machine
Cleaning agent 8014 for OSMO COLOR Industrial Oils.
Storage
6 months in good locked original can. Cool and dry store. Frost resistant. Do not
keep under solar radiation and incidence of light.
Disposal
Recovery or recycling. Otherwise: Under observance of regulations for the
disposal of waste to a special combustion chamber.
EAK-Key: 080102 / Old varnishes and paints, which do not have any halogenated
solvents.
Disposing of uncleaned packaging only after the previous hardening of the
remaining material on the inside walls. For this the can has to be empty. After the
emptying of the can leave it to dry by air.
EAK-key: 150199 D1 / Packaging with harmful soil.
Safety advice
The customary industrial hygienical steps are to be observed. Otherwise the
regulations of the GLP and UVV 32 are valid.
