The success of your business depends on satisfied customers and word-ofmouth recommendations. The needs of every customer are slightly different. A good way to satisfy the needs of different customers is to adopt a flexible approach and choose the right finish for the job.

We have narrowed the basic choice of finishes down to four and they are presented here. The range includes two new products, Spectra and Seal. Spectra is a new top coat based on a polyurethane and acrylic dispersion. Seal is a primer based on exactly the same dispersion but with properties specially suited for sealing the wood. Its hardness when dry makes it much easier to abrade than primers based on 100% acrylic dispersions.

We also present two of our top coats that have already become wellestablished. Mega is the world’s best-selling water-borne finish with an oxygen crosslinking system. Traffic has been a tremendous success since it was launched worldwide in 1999. That’s because it gives the highest wear resistance of any of our finishes and is the most matt finish in our range so it has a special look called ”invisible protection.”

Mega is easy to apply but hard to remove

You can’t go wrong with Mega. Here is a finish that is easy to apply and will satisfy even the most demanding customers. Mega is a 100% polyurethane (PU) one-component water-borne finish that performs like a two-component PU finish. In contrast to ordinary one-component finishes that simply dry and do not crosslink, Mega crosslinks with the oxygen in the air. The normal drying time for Mega is 2-3 hours.

Mega gives excellent wear, scratch and scuff resistance. In fact, scuff marks can usually be wiped off with a cloth whereas these marks are very difficult to remove on an ordinary finish.

With its excellent overall resistance, Mega is a good choice for wood floors in commercial buildings with many visitors but it is also suitable for homes, especially for kitchens and busy hallways. With Mega, you have all the advantages of a two-component finish without the disadvantages – no mixing and no crosslinker. Mega is a water-borne finish but what makes it different from other one-component water-borne finishes such as Spectra is the 100% PU composition and the oxygen crosslinking system.

Spectra – the obvious choice for homes

Spectra is a new one-component water-borne finish that is ideal for use in homes. It lives up to the needs of both flooring contractors and families.

For the flooring contractor, we’ve made Spectra slightly thicker than our previous water-borne finishes. With Spectra, you can obtain a good covering and it is easy to apply with a roller, brush or applicator. It levels out perfectly and dries in approximately 2 hours. It is also non-yellowing. Spectra is available in gloss, silk matt and matt.

Many water-borne finishes are based on a blend of polyurethane and acrylate. In Spectra, these two components have been combined into one molecule rather than just mixed together. This gives Spectra good wear resistance and improved resistance to scuff marks.
